
Health Workshop
Following the Mencap 'Death by Indifference' Report the Partnership Board held a Workshop at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton and invited people from North Yorkshire & York Primary Care Trust to tell us about their role, how they are changing things in view of the Mencap report and how they see the future for our health care in Craven and Harrogate.
After a brief introduction from Tim Hurren the day began with a performance by the Diversity Drama group, their performance of 'Carry on Doctor' looked at both good and bad experiences when visiting the doctor.
This was followed by Melanie Bradbury and Jayne Dolling who gave information about the Commissioning role of the Primary Care Trust, their presentation looked at how money is used in providing quality services, to view their presentation please click on the image below.
After a break for a cuppa the morning continued with a presentation by Angela Monaghan about 'Access to Nursing Care in Hospital', to view Angela's presentation please click on the image below.
Just before lunch Paul Jackson from Time Together told us about their work in relation to the 'Changing Places' campaign to provide more accessible toilets in the community, To find out more about 'Changing Places' please click on the image below.
Following a good lunch the afternoon began with Mick Kettle giving a presentation about the 'Death By Indifference Report' and looked at the Local Perspective in relation to this report, to view Mick's presentation please click on the image below.
The day continued with Murry Evans giving an insight to the newly formed 'Behavioural Support Team', to find out more about the team and their work please click on the image below.
Continuing on the theme of Behavior Ele Hailstone gave a talk on how our own behavior can affect our health and how we can adjust our behaviour to improve our health.
The next presentation was given by Dawn Walsh who introduced us to the 'The Health Facilitator Role' this is a new role that is funded by the Partnership Board, to view Dawn's presentation please click on the image below.
The final presentation was given by the Partnership Board 'Health Task Groups' who gave a view of their work in the Craven, Harrogate and the Local District.
Throughout the day all those who attended were given the opportunity to ask questions and to give their feedback about all of the topics discussed in the workshops.
