What is the Partnership Board?
There are Partnership Boards all over the country whose job is to improve the services for people with learning disabilities, by involving them in the decisions that affect their lives.
The Partnership Boards have been asked to make sure that things happen by certain dates in the Valuing People White Paper.
Craven, Harrogate and Rural District Learning Disabilities Partnership Board has been going since April 2002.
Our Partnership Board has 6 working Task Groups namely, Person Centred Planning, Day Services Modernisation, Education, Employment, Health and Housing. Each Task Group works on important things in the Valuing People White Paper.
In 2004 we decided it was time to take our Partnership Board forward and have an Executive Group where the work of the Task Groups could be agreed upon. The Co-ordinators of the Task Groups attend these meetings.

We also appointed two Co-Chairs - one service user and one independent Co-Chair.
The Executive Group is also made up from people from Service Users, Providers, Parents/Carers, Social Services, Advocacy and the independent Sector.
More information can be obtained from the Valuing People Website about the work of the Partnership Boards and the way services are improving now and in the future.
