MeetingThe Craven and Harrogate Employment task group always meet together.

Work - paintingWe meet regularly / often to look at work and jobs paid and unpaid and talk about and try and make services and information better when we think about;

Job Centre card"How do I find out about what jobs are on offer?"

"Who can help me look at job information?"

"Who can help me make contact with an employer if I see something I like?"

Paid Money"Who can help me sort out transport to go to work?" And "Will getting paid work be a problem with getting benefits?"; And many more questions like that.

But we don't just talk we take action.....

We have joined the Chamber of Trade and commerce so we can find out what local employers are doing.

Member of ParlimentWe have written to our local MP's who have replied and told us about the governments plans to make things easier in the future.

CollegeWe have worked with the learning and skills council to help them understand that people coming back from residential college need help looking for work and they have given some money to help some organisations do this.

We want to get more support for people who are ready to work and those who are already working. To make sure people get jobs and keep them.
