Education and Employment are important areas of work for the Partnership Board in relation to improving the everyday lives of people with a learning disability.

Valuing People says that people with learning disabilities should have the same opportunities for education as everyone else.
|
||
 |
People choose to go to college and adult education for lots of different reasons, some look to learn skills for employment whilst others look towards learning skills that will help towards becoming more independent.
|
||
 |
Some people also choose to go to college and adult education to learn new skills to persue a hobby or interest and to meet other people with similar hobbies and interests.

Employment / Work |

Valuing People says that more people with learning disabilities should get the chance to do all kinds of work, if possible getting paid. The Government also want to see more people with a learning disability in work.

Employment is about being engaged in a valued occupation, this includes both full and part time work and can be paid or unpaid (voluntary) work.
|
